2019 is here, and a new year means a clean slate: a chance to dream, and to dream on a grand scale. That’s what we’ll be doing here at Grand American Adventures – and as a starting point we’ve put together just a few of our grandest dreams that we’re making sure come true for our travellers in 2019.
Journey Iconic Route 66
If, as Nat King Cole once sang, you’ve always dreamed of the chance to “get your kicks on Route 66”, make 2019 the year that dream comes true. With such a long and storied history, enshrined in literature, music and popular myth it’s the kind of place you just have to go see for yourself if you want the real thing. In the spirit of the great American road trip, it’s time to seize the day.

Trek Appalachian Trail
The mountains are calling, and if you’ve spent 2018 dreaming of taking on the majestic AT, you must go. Since the majority of us have neither the time nor the inclination to tackle the monstrous full length, a sublime tasting menu of the trail’s northerly scenery is a perfect pick n mix escape from the real world. Put down your copy of Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods and get yourself a taste of the real thing.

Wake up to Sunrise in Monument Valley
You could be fooled into thinking Monument Valley was created for sunrise. The moment the first rays of sunrise hit the buttes the rock begins to glow, taking on that golden hue you only see during the dawn. The huge expanse of flat earth makes the sky seem huge – all the better for seeing the cascading colours of sunrise.

See Bears in the Wild
Bears are best seen in their natural habitat. Fortunately, they seem to gravitate to nature’s most beautiful places: mountains, lakes, rivers, ancient woodland glades and the coast. Don’t put off seeing bears in the wild any longer – it’s an experience you’ll dream about for the rest of your days.
